JANUARY AND FEBRUARY:
This is the offshore season. Considered the best time to catch a black marlin, blue marlin, 100+ pound yellowfin, “grande” sailfish and trophy dorado. This is also the time where the amberjacks pile up, creating extremely good jigging opportunities.
MARCH AND APRIL:
Best months for large yellowfin. The Marlin are also around but less common than January-February. It can also be one of the best time to target inshore species on top-water plugs.
MAY - JUNE
SAILFISH TIME. The bait ball migrations come in from southern waters and behind them come the huge schools of sailfish. Not uncommon to get multiple bites per day including double and triple hookups. Inshore fishing peaks during this time of. Trolling live baits you can expect big roosterfish every day as well as the elusive Pacific Tarpon.
JULY - AUGUST
The marlin come in close to shore again. This month brings cooler weather much more enjoyable than during the warmer months (January – February) and the inshore fishing for Cubera Snapper is red hot during these months.
SEPTEMBER - NOVEMBER:
September means WAHOO! There are a lot of them this time of year and big ones. The inshore bite is also good during this time as well as a great time to target both black and blue Marlin in current lines offshore.
DECEMBER:
Great all around month. Huge schools of dorados are frequently found, sailfish, Cubera, jacks and amberjacks feeding off bait balls right up to shore. Excellent month to target fish on top-water plugs especially Cubera snapper. It’s a great month for a variety of fish.
